Progression & achievements
From salvaged machines to the interstellar beacon, with all 32 achievement conditions.
From scrap to spaceflight
Open J for the crew’s shared journal and production plan. Recover the three Basic machines, connect them to the lander, analyze materials and develop printing, power and depot automation. Research gates still apply even when you know a recipe’s ingredients. The first satellite gives surface coverage; build an antenna on the launch-pad world, then launch an MK2 satellite from the powered pad to unlock the spaceship. Merely building the rocket does not complete the launch.

Nine industrial milestones
| Milestone | Objective |
|---|---|
| Start production on another world | Research local materials and find an industrial site on a visited world. Produce 10 new industrial products there; mining and purchases do not count. See Interplanetary industry for site locations. |
| Harness a lava world’s heat | Build a geothermal station in a lava world’s thermal field and supply an actual electrical load for at least 30 seconds. Power stays in the local grid. |
| Produce deuterium on an ice world | Power a cryogenic refinery at an ice deposit and produce 10 units of deuterium, the first fusion fuel ingredient. The refinery keeps working while you visit other worlds. Import filter membranes from a toxic world’s bio-refinery. |
| Complete a freight delivery | Build freight terminals on two worlds, supply fuel and set a route. Deliver at least 20 cargo units. Cargo counts after unloading at its destination. Build a cargo shuttle in a Printer MK1 or better, install it in the sending terminal and supply ordinary ship fuel canisters. |
| Combine both fusion fuel sources | Produce deuterium on an ice world and helium-3 on a barren world. Bring both materials to a fuel fabricator and produce 4 fusion cells. |
| Bring fusion power online | Build a fusion reactor using components from other worlds, including at home. Supply fusion cells and power an actual load for at least 30 seconds. Keep fuel deliveries running. |
| Develop exotic industries | Travel beyond the home galaxy. Use local resources to produce 4 plasma stabilizers and 4 regenerative membranes for advanced industry. |
| Recover three lost archives | Produce survey data in an observatory. At the powered observatory, locate three abandoned sites through Interplanetary industry. Visit them, complete their objectives and recover the archives. Each awards a ship module. |
| Activate the interstellar beacon | Recover all three archives to calibrate the network. Power the central beacon at home and nodes on at least three different foreign worlds simultaneously for 60 seconds. A power interruption restarts calibration. |
Abandoned energy archive
Repair the circuits and supply the station with 250 W for 30 seconds. Recover the archive and a ship thermal module on site.
Lost navigation archive
Restore the optics and start transmission. Survive for 40 seconds within 12 meters of the station while its sentries attack. Recover the archive and a ship cargo module.
Abandoned biosphere laboratory
Collect native samples on the destination world and bring filter membranes. Restore the laboratory and recover its archive and a ship drive module. Required samples are revealed on arrival.
All 32 achievements
The table lists the 32 achievement conditions in version 0.17. Personal actions and shared crew milestones are distinct: joining a developed save does not retroactively grant old one-time events. Crew awards require presence when the event occurs; personal collections, visits and playtime track your own progress. Builder needs 25 structures standing simultaneously across worlds. Actual production and completed deliveries count toward industry, not purchases or loading a shuttle. Steam confirmation additionally depends on the installed build and published Steam definitions.
